Loving Our Community

We love our neighbors, and we want to love in both word and deed! There are a number of ministries that aim to bless the residents of Jamestown and our neighboring communities. Here are four:

Blessings in A Backpack

On the fourth Thursday of the month, we partner with our local school district to prepare meals that are given to children in the community who need food assistance during the weekend. Blessing in A Backpack ensures that they have nutrition to sustain them when they are not in school. We bring an eager crew to the elementary school, pack meals, and then enjoy fellowship afterward over an ice cream cone or treat. This outreach ministry is perfect for families with smaller kids to share in together.

Drive-Thru Prayer

During the summer months, we host Drive-Thru Prayer (DTP) in the parking lot of the church three afternoons a week. Last summer, 217 people stopped by requesting prayer, and many drivers returned several times. People in our community are carrying burdens, and you can help them send those burdens to the One who is able to lift them and give them everlasting hope in Jesus Christ. You can sign up for a one, two, or three hour shift on the days DTP is hosted. Keep an eye out for sign-up opportunities after Easter.

Jamestown Food Pantry

Our local food pantry is always in need of groceries to help people in our community. We keep an updated list of desired items in the church foyer. If you would like to participate in serving the meals, please contact Russel Slate and we’ll connect you.

Nursing Home Ministry

We have the blessing of being able to provide gospel services in three local nursing homes. We meet every other Monday evening at Jamestown Place in Jamestown, every Wednesday morning at Pristine Senior Living in Xenia, and every Friday morning at Legacy Village in Xenia.
